Beyoncé made history at the 65th annual Grammy Awards on Feb. 5 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. By winning four awards, she surpassed the late classical conductor Sir Georg Solti for the most wins by anyone in Grammy history. Bey has now won 32 Grammys, one more than Solti won over a 35-year span (1963-1998).

The “Break My Soul” singer has been setting records at the Grammys for years. In 2010, she became the first female artist to win six Grammys in one night. (Her friend and sometime Grammy rival Adele equaled the feat two years later.) In 2020, she became the woman with the most career Grammy wins (28), surpassing Alison Krauss.

Beyoncé also now stands alone as the living artist with the most Grammys. She’s had been tied for that distinction with the legendary Quincy Jones.

There is only one disappointing note in Beyoncé’s Grammy resume: She has won just one of those 32 awards in a Big Four category. That happened in 2010 when her dance smash “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” won song of the year. She has gone 0-4 in album of the year and 0-8 in record of the year.

Here’s a complete list of people who have won 20 or more Grammys in competition. The years shown are the year of the awards ceremony (starting in 1971, the year of the live telecast). At the end of each entry, we make note of any special merit awards these people have received from the Recording Academy. (Those awards are not included in the tally of competitive awards won.)

Kacey Musgraves In Awe After Playing Loretta Lynn’s Guitar During 2023 Grammy Awards: ‘She Paved My Path’

Kacey Musgraves hushed a chattering 2023 Grammy Awards audience on Sunday night (Feb. 5) when she played late country icon Loretta Lynn‘s signature song, “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” during the broadcast’s In Memoriam segment. Adding to the emotions of the moment, Musgraves played the song on her hero’s 1963 Epiphone acoustic guitar, complete with Lynn’s name emblazoned along the fretboard in mother of pearl.
