Victim found dead inside apartment at 497 Sun Lake Circle

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – A man was shot and killed Wednesday night at a Seminole County apartment complex, according to sheriff’s officials.

Deputies responded around 11:20 p.m. to 497 Sun Lake Circle in unincorporated Lake Mary, where they found the man dead in the porch area of an apartment. The victim was identified Thursday as Larreon Da’Quan Cosby, 32.

“A suspect, who has a connection to the victim, was quickly located by our Alert helicopter and apprehended after a traffic stop was executed on his vehicle. Authorities believe the incident is isolated and not random in nature,” the sheriff’s office said.

The suspect was also identified Thursday, as the sheriff’s office announced Nathanal Samuel Bratcher II, 26, had been booked into the John E. Polk Correctional Facility on no bond to face a charge of first-degree murder in Cosby’s death.

Bratcher was described in a news release as the ex-boyfriend of Cosby’s girlfriend, who told deputies at the scene that Bratcher had called her and said he was going to kill Cosby. She said that after she couldn’t get Cosby on the phone to warn him, she drove with several acquaintances to Cosby’s apartment where they found him unresponsive and bleeding, the release states.

Cosby’s girlfriend told deputies what kind of car Bratcher drove and where he lived, allowing investigators to track the alleged shooter’s Mustang to the area of Osceola and El Capitan drives. Sanford police stopped Bratcher’s car and he was taken into custody without incident, the sheriff’s office said.

An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with further information is urged to contact the sheriff’s office at 407-665-6650, or Crimeline at 1-800- 423-8477 or **TIPS.
