ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – Several railroad crossings around Ronald Reagan Boulevard in Seminole County are impassable because the crossing arms are stuck in the down position.

Seminole County officials say a blown transformer has cut power to the railroad crossing arms at the following intersections:

  • State Road 436 at Station Street

  • North Street west of Ronald Reagan Boulevard

  • Plumosa Avenue east of Ronald Reagan Boulevard

  • The Ronald Reagan Boulevard crossing north of Plumosa Avenue

  • East State Road 434 crossing west of Ronald Reagan Boulevard

The county is asking people to seek alternate routes as technicians work to manually open each railroad crossing. The arms will then remain open until power can be restored.

SunRail and Amtrak are currently not in operation in the area because of Helene. Drivers should continue to avoid the area though and exercise extreme caution when driving over those crossings.
